Easter!

For the first 9 years of our marriage, Josh and I didn't really do much to celebrate Easter. We'd help out with the Easter Egg Hunt on Josh's side, my family would still give us Easter baskets, and we'd have dinner with both sides, but that was really all we would do.

Things are a little different when there's a kid involved. This year Cordy was pretty fun to watch. I'm sure that it will just get more fun as she gets older.

On Friday, my friend Wendy hosted an Easter Egg Hunt at her church. I think Cordy mostly just liked being around a lot of other kids, but she did find it fun to pick up the plastic eggs scattered around the church.

Finding all the eggs

On Saturday, we headed over to Grandma Leslie's house for the Easter Egg Hunt with the Sparks cousins. Cordy wasn't really sure what was going on, and the look on her face says she's not too happy to be sitting there on the porch getting her picture taken.

Josh helped Cordy pick up eggs all over the yard. She even found a golden egg!

After the hunt, the kids went through their eggs to see what treasures they got. Cordy sat with Grandma Leslie, and enjoyed playing with and eating her bracelets.
 

She also enjoyed the little purple flowers growing in the yard.

 
Then we went inside and ate dinner, and Grandma Leslie fed Cordy lots of Jell-o.



On Sunday morning, the Easter Bunny came to our house and left this cute little basket for Cordy.



She was excited when she saw it. She crawled into the room, and immediately went for the rubber ducky. She has a thing for rubber duckies.

Then she realized that there was chocolate in there!




We stripped her down and put a bib on her, and pretty soon she was covered in chocolate. She obviously enjoyed it.


After the chocolate feast, it was time to get ready for church. Cordy wore her pretty new Easter dress, and was, as usual, super cute!



After church, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Sittig's house, and the Easter Bunny had been there too! He brought her a lot of clothes, Mrs. Potato Head, a book, chocolate, and a rubber ducky, which she went for first, of course!



It was a really fun weekend. We enjoyed seeing how excited Cordy got, especially with her new rubber duckies.
